Daily Haiku:

Blankets of white snow
Fall on silent resting trees
The woods in winter.

At one time last spring and summer, I was writing a haiku a day, because I had time on my hands; I was unemployed! Being unemployed is liberating in many respect, because your mind is free to apply itself to creative pursuits. I never realized how much working stunts intellectual growth until I no gainful employment to wake up to each day. So it was with elation mixed with regret that I went back to work in August of last year. Since then I haven’t written one haiku, so caught up in work and school am I.

Be that as it may, I have a multitude of haiku to share, and I hope to be able to post one a day. So, here is the first:

Haiku of the Day

Man in flight so free
Colored canvas floats on breeze
Balloon over canyon.
